Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 launched in India for Rs. 9,999
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was today launched in India for Rs. 9,999. The latest smartphone from Xiaomi comes after the launch of the flagship Mi 5. Featuring a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, the Redmi Note 3 comes in two variants. Xiaomi will be selling it exclusively on Amazon.in.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes after the successful launch of the Mi 5 at the Mobile World Congress. Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 3 in China back in November last year. After a lot of interest in markets like India, the company seems to have advanced its launch plans.
Luckily for Indian users, the Redmi Note 3 comes with a far more powerful Snapdragon 650 processor. The original version in China comes with a Mediatek Helio X10 processor – while it is one of the high end Mediatek SoCs, it is not as good as the mid-range Snapdragon 650 processor. Additionally, the Adreno 510 GPU is also more powerful. Essentially, you are getting a much better product overall in India.
Redmi Note 3 Specs
The Redmi Note 3 comes with a 5.5 inch Full HD display and a quad core Snapdragon 650 processor. It comes with in two variants – one with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage and the other with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. It still runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with MIUI 7 on top, but Xiaomi is currently working on MIUI 7 based on Marshmallow. The Marshmallow update should be released in the coming weeks, so the Redmi Note 3 will be among the first few Xiaomi devices to get it.
Other than that, the Redmi Note 3 comes with a 16 MP camera on the back with phase detection autofocus and dual LED flash. There’s a 5 MP camera on the front for selfies and video calling. Xiaomi has also included a fingerprint sensor in the Redmi Note 3, which is amazing given the price that the company has set.
3 GB / 2 GB RAM, 32 GB / 16 GB internal storage and dual SIM dual LTE support, microSD card support and a huge 4,050 mAh battery round off the specs of the Redmi Note 3 extremely well. There’s Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and FM Radio as well. While it does not feature Quick Charge, there’s fast charging so it shouldn’t take as long as normal devices do.
