Since launch Xiaomi has sold over 90000 MI3 units officially. Xiaomi will be ramping up their India operations at a much faster pace than expected. After the MI3, RedMI 1s will be launched and made available with the first half of September. It was announced at Rs 6999, but will be available at Rs 5999. That is absolutely brilliant pricing. To understand how Xiaomi manages to sell at such low price, we need to understand that Xiaomi does not spend on advertising and marketing like other players out there. As it is being direclty sold by flipkart, distributor and retailer margins are also cut. Though Xiaomi devices are not available easily, the pricing is disruptive and consistently they manage to raise the bar in the Industry. Registration are open now and 40000 units will be up for sale on September 2, 2PM. Yes, its the same old flash sales model. We can hear you screaming, but it seems to be working for Xiaomi and they are not going to change it.
