Huawei P9 – new phone with Leica camera
Huawei P9 is the new camera centric smartphone from the Chinese smarpthone maker and is made in collaboration with Leica. Earlier, Huawei and Leica announced that they were collaborating on a new top of the line camera centric smartphone and here we are, the Huawei P9 is ready and rocking. Powered by HUAWEI Kirin 955, The Huawei P9 runs Android 6.0 at launch and has a 5.2″ FullHD display.
The rear camera has a RGB sensor and a monochrome sensor to capture incredible shots. The colors are recorded by the RGB sensor while monochrome sensor captures the minute detail and Huawei’s complex algorithm then does the magic to create stunning images. The dual rear cameras have 12mp lens with 1.25µm pixel size, giving high quality photos in low light conditions. Thanks to the ‘Hybrid Focus’ (combination of laser auto focus, depth measurement and contrast), focus on subject will be super fast. With great capability comes the need for great power. The Huawei Kirin 955 has a dual core ISP, a dedicated DSP to take care of image processing.
The Huawei P9 comes with nicely sculpted unibody aluminum body and the glass is 2.5D cut. The edges are diamond-cut and rounded out. The Huawei P9 comes in three variants (with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM) and all the variants come with Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C port for high speed data transfer. The battery is rated at 3000mAh.
