Huawei G9 Lite and MediaPad M2 7.0 launched in China

Huawei has announced two new device for China – the G9 Lite smartphone and the MediaPad M2 7.0 tablet. The G9 Lite may be the Chinese variant of the recently launched Huawei P9 Lite.

The G9 Lite is the Chinese variant of the P9 Lite. It features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. The device is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Kirin 650 processor clubbed with 3 GB of RAM. The device has 16 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card.

On the back, there is a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and there is a fingerprint sensor that the company claims will unlock in just 0.5 seconds. The device comes with a  8-megapixel secondary camera with an aperture of f/2.0.

The device is powered by a 3,000mAh non-removeable battery and the device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1.

Huawei MediaPad M2 7.0

The Huawei MediaPad M2 7.0 is third tablet in the series. Earlier, 10-inch and 8-inch tablets were launched. The MediaPad M2 7.0 as the name implies comes with a 7-inch full HD display with 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution. It comes with Huawei’s ClariVu 2.0 color enhancement technology.

The MediaPad M2 7.0 is the first tablet from Huawei to sport a fingerprint sensor. The device runs on octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset coupled with 3 GB RAM. The tablet runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based EMUI.

The Mediapad M2 comes in 16 GB and 32 GB variants with expandable memory up to 128 GB. The primary camera on the device is 13-megapixel with LED flash, while the secondary camera on the device is a 5-megapixel. The tablet is powered by a 4,360mAh battery.

Pricing and Availability

The Huawei G9 Lite has been priced at CNY 1699 and will be available in white, gold and black colors. The MediaPad M2 7.0 has been priced at CNY 1599 for the 16 GB variant and CNY 1799 for the 32 GB variant and will be available in White, Blue, Gold, and Pink colors.
