HP reinvents desktop PC with Sprout
Few days ago we were at awe looking at Alienware’s new Area 51 gaming PC that redefined the way components are organized and we also saw the birth of ‘real’ external video graphics peripheral with Alienware 13 + Alienware Graphics Amplifier. While these things are meant for advancing gamers, today’s announcement from HP is meant for advancing the PC for home use. And it’s a big one!
Technically speaking, Sprout is powered by 4th generation Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia GT 745A graphics processor with 2GB dedicated DDR3 memory. What makes this truly special desktop all-in-one is the HP Illuminator, powered by the HP DLP Projector and HP High-Resolution Camera with up to 14.6 megapixel resolution and the Intel® RealSense™ 3D Camera for instant capture of 2D and 3D objects, along with an LED desk lamp. The projector projects a second display on the desk that not only acts like a mouse+keyboard, it can capture the content, say of a page when you place the page/textbook on the illuminated area. The built in 3D camera can capture real world objects in 3D shape. The built in display is a FullHD 23” touch sensitive panel. Take a look at this video to understand what exactly Sprout is.
