Facebook drops Bing results from its Search
Facebook has recently updated its search algorithm, optimizing it to show more relevant results. Up to that point, the company integrated Bing search results, too – a search would throw up results from Facebook as well as Bing. After the update, however, you will no longer get results from Bing.
In a statement issued to Reuters, the company confirmed the news, noting that they are focusing on showing what has been shared on Facebook. Both Facebook and Microsoft maintain that they’re working on other areas together, according to the statement.
The move makes sense – showing web results from Facebook has always made little sense, as people would rather use Google/Bing from the respective pages rather than Facebook.
